Overcome Temptation

Today meditation:

James 1:12

Remember the life of Joseph, how he made conscious efforts to overcome the sexual temptation he faced with. Also Daniel, when he was threatened and tempted to worship King as God and eat their food, how he overcame the threats and temptations.

Everyday we face lot of temptations which may seem silly however it may lead to sin. Like temptation to lie, look lustfully at a women, steal, misguide, desire to consume alcohol, etc. Like I wrote in the earlier paragraph, we will have to make conscious effort to weed off any such temptations. We will have to understand that it is a temptation which is a trap laid on our mind by devil to lead us to sin. Sin leads us to consider little about ourselves, live in shame and guilt.

Therefore we have to look at the larger picture. Enemy will try always to lay trap for us through a lot of situations. Don't dwell on such thoughts and make room for sinful acts. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Take the Holy name of Lord Jesus Christ and claim the victory He has given us in Calvery. Claim the victory through Lord Jesus Christ's Holy Blood which cleanses and protects us. Put on the armour of God and ready for the battle always.

The victory will be yours if you persist with the right attitude. May God bless you and give peace.
