1 Timothy 4:1 Identify the false teachings

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.

1 Timothy 4:1

This verse from 1st book of Timothy chapter 4 has 2 parts. 1st part tells us about how Holy Spirit is warning us to look for those who will leave the faith in Lord Jesus Christ which is true faith. In the 2nd part of the verse, the Holy Spirit tells us how theose who turns away from the Lord Jesus Christ will follow false teachings spread by demons.

How will we identifiy the false teachings? Is it through their behaviour, words they speak, the dress they wear, or the faith they follow?

I believe that we can identify a false teaching by examining it through the lense of the Word of God. Also, we have to check weather they follow what they preach. And thirdly we have to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth. 

So, inorder to reach that level we have to read and understand the Word of God. The Word of God gives us hope, encouragement, grows our faith. We have to dwell on the Word of God so that God speaks to us.
